What are the Factoring fees?

Generally, 3-4% of the invoice value depending on recourse or non-recourse factoring.

What if I already have a fuel card?

Trucking companies typically use multiple fuel cards. It’s like having multiple credit cards such as having a Visa and American Express credit card. 

You can use our card at TA/Petro, Casey’s, Ambest, Sapp Bros and 7Fleet including 7 Eleven , Speedway & Stripes and your other card for the other fuel stations.   

The Hwy Fuel card offers you a lot MORE than just fuel discounts.  Card members also receive tire discounts up to 65% off Goodyear and Bridgestone and other benefits.

Generally, as an independent driver your discount is limited to the amount of fuel you use yearly. HWY Fuel card works with thousands of independent drivers, and we can negotiate higher discounts because of the collective volume.

As HWY Fuel gets larger, you can expect your discount to get bigger as time goes on. Why? Because as Hwy Fuel Card grows, they can continue to negotiate better discounts for you.

How do I apply for a HWY FUEL Card?

Complete both steps of the application process: 

Step 1: Fill out the Registration form and click at bottom of this page to continue to Step 2.

Step 2: Complete the COMDATA Application Form, which requires your Bank Name, Routing Number, Account Number, Bank Address and Company Tax ID Number, MC or DOT Number.

Important Tips:

  1. Please be sure to complete the ACH Form in Step 2 to avoid delays in receiving your card.
  2. Please check your email. You will receive important information from our partner, Comdata, about your application.

What are the card fees?

After your first fuel transaction, there is a one-time $50 Activation Fee, which is offset with your fuel savings*

There is a monthly $5.00/card fee.

Card transaction fees are 0 cents per transaction.

Comchek fee – $3.95 fee per check

*Your savings on your first fuel transaction can be about $100/gal based on average savings of 0.70 cents/gal & filling up your tank with 400 gallons. Your savings of about $100 can be double your activation fee.

Do I receive a physical fuel card?

Yes.  HWY FUEL CARD has partnered with Comdata to issue our fuel card for small fleets and owner operators.  Once you are approved, Comdata will express a physical card to the address you listed on your application.

How long does it take for new account approval?

Generally, applications are reviewed within 24 -48 hours, if no additional information is required.  Upon approval, cards are sent out via 2nd day air.  Your welcome package from Comdata will include:

  • A welcome e-mail with information on fuel locations that accept the fuel card.
  • A unique log in to download fuel usage reports.
  • A phone number for Comdata customer support.
  • Any benefits that you qualify for such as fuel advances.
  • Hwy Fuel Card support team will also provide customer support.

How does our company pay for fuel invoices?

Once an account is approved, Comdata will set up weekly withdrawals from your company’s bank account via ACH to pay for fuel consumption on a weekly basis.  

What type of reports do I get?

Once your application is approved, you will be given a unique log in to download daily, weekly and monthly reports that track all transaction activity.

Hwy Fuel Card support team members will also provide additional support to Hwy Fuel Card members.

How can my Owner Operators get your discounts?

I have owner operators.  How can they get a fuel card?

If each owner operator pays for their own fuel, each owner operator must apply for their own fuel card if the company does not pay for their fuel.

How can you offer discounts to small fleets?

We aggregate volume of all the gallons of fuel that our small fleet customers spend at truck stops by using our fuel card.  We’ve negotiated much higher fuel discounts and rebates for small fleets based on this collective volume.  In this way, HwyFuel can help small fleets get discounts that they cannot get otherwise by going direct to fuel truck stops

Is the fuel discount off the cash price at fuel stations?

Yes. The discount is off the cash price.

Is there interest charged on Fuel Advances?

No interest is charged on the fuel advances issued to you for the week when you pay by the due date.  Fuel advances can help you with cash flow management.

Tire Savings

How do the tire discounts work?

If you are on the road and need a new tire, Comdata will provide a phone number to call to request a tire.  They will deliver tires to your location.

To order tires for prevention/maintenance purposes (not an emergency like a blowout), you can call a phone number that Comdata will provide to you, and they will direct you to the closest location where you can pick up tires.

Can I use the Hwy Fuel Card to pay for tires?

Yes, you can use the Hwy Fuel Card if the vendor accepts the fuel card and there are funds in the Hwy Fuel Card account.

Truck Repairs/Maintenance Savings

Our fuel partner, TA Petro, offers maintenance and repairs, including promotions on oil changes and services for alignments, snow chains, DPF cleaning and batteries.  TA Petro offers many amenities including showers, restaurants, laundry service to help you pass the time during your service
